It's no secret that your girl Amber has a spicy brain. Is it because she's Cajun? She is, but that's not why. It's mainly because she's neurodivergent. This means her brain works a little differently than some folx.
As an autistic, anxious, depresso espresso girlie with a service dog, she went on a mission to talk to law students first. In 2024 we spoke to Loyola University School of Law and got great feedback.
So, by December 2024, we presented twice on the topic: "Working with Neurodiverse Individuals in the Legal Profession" to Louisiana Bar Association members.
Armed with Tubbs the dog dressed in costume and a whole lot of jokes, she first presented during the Louisiana State Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division Professional Development virtual webinar. With over 100 folx in attendance, she taught them:
Thank you to YLD Chair Kristen Amond and Council member Josef P. Ventulan for seeking out this presentation and giving her the platform. The feedback was overwhelming.
One participant said, "That was the best presentation I've attended in years!" (We have this in writing, thank you)
Next up, two days later, Amber and Tubbs visited the Louisiana State Bar Center in New Orleans to present to two packed rooms of attorneys. We know it was a success because people laughed a lot (like a lot) and there was a line to talk to her afterwards.
Plus, no one left or threw tomatoes.
In person presentations are great because attendees get to see Tubbs do medical alerts in real time. And she's just so darned cute. You can always check out the current LSBA CLE events here.
We are easy to find on Facebook and Instagram- type in @sheppardlawllc to watch goofy videos sprinkled with legal tidbits. Tubbs even has her own Facebook fan club.
