Amber Sheppard, owner and managing attorney for Sheppard Law PLLC, was recently published in the trial lawyer magazine, Louisiana Advocates (published by the Louisiana Association for Justice) for her article "Louisiana Law Has Gone To The Dogs". In it, she discusses how Louisiana and federal law applies to dogs both as property and as service dogs. After it was published she received numerous calls and emails from fellow Louisiana attorneys and former judges praising the piece and wanting to know more about the topic. A follow up article comparing Louisiana and federal laws on service dogs, therapy dogs, and emotional support dogs will be published in September 2019.
